The item looks to from China and Chinese in origin. The stand is made of wood and it holds the cloth silk embroidery that is framed in wood and under glass. The emroidery looks to be signed (see photos). The item looks to be a table screen to me. The item measures in total about 12. Inches high, it is about 5 inches from the front edge to the ack side at the base and it is about 12.75 inches wide.
